NUCOR CORPORATION HELPS ITS EMPLOYEES GET OUT OF DEBT THROUGH DAVE RAMSEY'S FINANCIAL PEACE @ WORK
NASHVILLE, Tenn. Nucor Corporation, the nation's largest steel producer, is now offering Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace @ Work as a company-wide benefit to its employees and their spouses. Financial Peace @ Work teaches people how to take control of their finances and get out of debt.
According to a Garman, Leech & Grable study in 2004, up to 85 percent of employees use work time to deal with personal financial concerns and 30 percent admit that money concerns interfere with job performance. They report that employee financial well-being directly predicts employee performance ratings, pay satisfaction, absenteeism, and conflicts between work and money matters.
"Employee satisfaction is one of Nucor's main focuses," said Dan DiMicco, Vice Chairman, President and CEO of Nucor. "Our workers have everything to gain by going through this course. Financial Peace @ Work is a winning program for our winning team."
More than 3,000 Nucor employees and their families have completed the class. The average family paid off $6,459 in debt and saved $2,832 in the first 91 days after beginning the program, a $9,291 turnaround.
"Not only has this class improved our financial situation," said Keith Prevost, a Nucor Corporation employee and Financial Peace @ Work graduate, "but it has also improved the quality of my marriage and the quality of my family life."
The program works because it not only gives team members the tools they need to win but it holds them accountable to put those tools into practice in their daily lives, directly impacting the company's bottom line.
"Nucor's commitment to their employees is outstanding," said Dave Ramsey. "By offering their team Financial Peace @ Work, their workers will greatly benefit by gaining a financial peace of mind."
