The theme I hear in many of my coaching sessions is the same: Clients don’t think they’re ready to start their business.
They use excuses like: “I need more time,” “I don’t have enough experience,” or “I’m not qualified.”
But if I’ve learned anything in my career, it’s that there’s no such thing as ready.

When I walked on my first stage to give a talk as a paid professional public speaker, I was 26 years old and way out of my league. I was speaking to an audience full of people 20–30 years older than me. I was unqualified, inexperienced and absolutely scared out of my mind.
But I walked out there anyway. I smiled and held my head high and spoke with confidence as if I had been doing it my whole life. I just did it scared.
The truth is, if you’re waiting until you’re no longer scared to put yourself out there, you’ll never put yourself out there. And if you’re waiting until you have a foolproof plan to launch your idea, you’ll never launch it.
That’s because starting something new is risky and uncomfortable. But the people who win in business do it anyway.
Yes, you will fail sometimes. I have. Yes, people will criticize you sometimes. They criticize me daily. But you can’t do anything great without failure and criticism. In fact, these are good signs you’re actually doing something right.
