3 Minute Read

As you get older, something weird happens.

You start saying things like, “Money doesn’t grow on trees” and “Hold your horses.”

And it hits you.

You’ve officially become your mom or dad.

That’s legacy—inheriting something your parents passed down to you.

And if you follow what you learned about money in Financial Peace University, you’ll eventually be able to leave a legacy of wealth to your family and community for years to come. The Legacy Journey unpacks how to safeguard that legacy.

What is The Legacy Journey?

The Legacy Journey picks up where Financial Peace University leaves off. It’s a biblically based six-lesson course that takes a deeper look at Baby Steps 3–7.

What will I learn?

Dave Ramsey and Rachel Cruze will teach you how to:

  • overcome toxic beliefs society has about wealth
  • invest wisely
  • uncover the keys to contentment
  • live a life of purpose
  • safeguard your wealth
  • use the resources God gives you to become generous

Don’t worry, you don’t have to be retired and sitting on the beach to apply the lessons to your life today. You simply need to be interested in learning more about investing, estate planning, generational giving, or protecting your family legacy. That’s it!

Get expert money advice to reach your money goals faster!

Even better, this biblically based course teaches you that leaving an inheritance to your children’s children involves more than money. Your legacy also includes good character, strong integrity and a heart of contentment.

Through video teaching and activities, you’ll learn the framework for living intentionally now, so you’ll be able to leave a legacy that will secure your family’s future.

An important part of The Legacy Journey teaches members how to organize critical documents (like a will, insurance policy and investment information) needed in case of an emergency or death. Dave explains the purpose of each document. Members also learn how to sit down with their families to create a constitution: a written vision and mission of their family. The family constitution is a great way to establish guardrails and expectations for receiving inheritances.

Setting your money on a path that protects your family is a powerful way to express your love.

Unfortunately, the opposite is also true. If you don’t prepare your finances for the future, you may end up leaving your loved ones in a state of shock and confusion. If you’ve been there before, it can be pretty painful. That’s a big part of what The Legacy Journey is all about—having a plan and communicating your plan to your family.

The Legacy Journey course helps you define what you’re called to do with your time, talents, resources and relationships, so you can begin to live your legacy with confidence.

How do you get started?

The Legacy Journey is now included with Financial Peace University. That means, when you become a Financial Peace member, you’ll receive both Financial Peace University and The Legacy Journey!
