Hitting A Measure Of Success

Mickey asks Dave to explain the difference between a goal and a decision. Dave gives Mickey a detailed response.

QUESTION: Mickey from Montana asks Dave to explain the difference between a goal and a decision. Dave gives Mickey a detailed response.

ANSWER: If you make the decision that hour, that's not a goal—that's a decision. If you say you're going to sell $100,000 of product by a date and you don't, that's a goal you missed. A decision is when you say by that date, we're going to make the call. With a goal, by that date, we're attempting to hit this measure of success. I think the difference is one is a projection, and the other is you're making a call.
