Fourth Baby on the Way...Stop Debt Payments and Build Up Savings?
Kathryn has several questions for Dave about how they should handle money with a fourth child on the way.
QUESTION: Kathryn and her husband are expecting their fourth baby. Should they stop their debt snowball and build up their emergency fund? Or should they do the debt snowball and build up the emergency fund at the same time? Should her husband use the Family Leave Act so he can stay home with her for several weeks after the baby is born?
ANSWER: Stop your debt snowball and build up your emergency fund. You can resume the debt snowball after you’ve had the baby and everything is somewhat back to normal.
Your husband should stay home from work for a few days, not a few weeks! He’s got a bunch of mouths to feed and needs to get back to work.
