Moving From The Air Force

Doug just finished a long military career and wants to get into something different. How can he find a truly great job?

QUESTION: Doug just finished 20 years in the Air Force, which was his dream job. How is it possible for him to move to another state and find something that is a great job to have, and not just a job? Career coach Dan Miller tells him how to not limit himself to his military experience.

ANSWER: With 20 years in the Air Force, you should really know what you do well. Don’t position yourself as just a career military guy, but wipe the slate clean and ask yourself what you do well. Know your highest areas of competence, then contact companies and show them what you have to offer.
