More Than Just A Budget
Christina and her husband aren’t doing a budget, and Christina only wants to do one because Dave says she needs one.
QUESTION: Christina in Cincinnati and her husband aren’t doing a budget, and Christina only wants to do one because Dave says she needs one. Dave says it’s more about staying on the same page for where their lives are going.
ANSWER: You don’t need to do a budget in order to live on less than you make. You’ve already pulled that off. Making a budget would increase communication in your marriage substantially. You have no idea of the things you’re not communicating about until you start talking about them.
Jesus said your treasure is where your heart is. What you do with your money is so much a part of your autobiography that when you learn to do it together, it will increase communication and cooperation between you and impact your marriage very positively. Sharon and I have enough money in our checking account that we don’t have to do a budget for a long time. We do a budget because it keeps us on the same page about where our lives are going. That’s huge; I’d do one just for that reason alone.
