Teresa's husband has a too conservative plan. Dave thinks the money market account and gold are horrible investments for a 401k.
QUESTION: Teresa’s husband has a 401k that they disagree over. He’s 47 and has $90,000 in a money market and $50,000 in gold. She’s worried that the money has done nothing in the last five years. Should she leave the issue alone, because he doesn’t seem to get it?
ANSWER: He’s got it horribly invested. You’ve got to attack the rationale that he wants to be conservative. He has nothing but his opinion to base his decision on that the stock market is a bad investment. What disturbs me the most is that your vote doesn’t seem to count. You guys need to sit down and talk about this.
