Soil Testing?

Dave provides a listener with three rules to follow when testing the soil of a property intended for purchase.

QUESTION: A listener says she and her husband are looking for land to purchase.  What type of soil tests should they have done to ensure the quality of the property?

ANSWER: Follow these three rules:

1. Always have a core test or soil test done through the local health department.  That will allow you to put a septic system on the property. 

2. Never buy any property without title insurance.

3. Never buy rural property without a survey.  You need to make sure exact boundaries are laid out.
