Stock Market And The Election?
The election shouldn't impact the stock market. Washington won't solve your problems or grow your money.
QUESTION: A listener asks how the election will affect the stock market?
ANSWER: It really shouldn’t matter because you’re not investing for one two or three-month period based on an election. You also don’t invest for the short-term for three or four years based on who’s president. You invest for the long-term - a minimum of five years – or you don’t mess with mutual funds.
We may see an upswing in the months ahead because an incumbent has been re-elected, but that shouldn’t matter in the long run. You should invest in America’s best companies for the next 10-15 years, putting your money in mutual funds.
You shouldn’t look to Washington to solve your problems or grow your money.
