Need a Will or Not?

Is a will appropriate for Carrie's situation?

QUESTION: Carrie in Michigan says she is single and doesn't have any kids. She wants to know if she needs a will or a trust.

Dave's ANSWER: Everyone needs a will, but not everyone needs a trust. You need a will, and you can go to and get one for just a few dollars. It also covers things like your living will, which is the Terry Schaivo unplug-or-not-unplug document. You don't want your parents making that decision. It's not fair to them. You make that decision.

How do you want that to be handled, if you're in a coma and being fed through a feeding tube for 10 years? You need to decide those things. Everyone who is 18 or older needs a will.
