QUESTION: Dell in Columbus wants to know what Dave means when he says you have to have “gazelle intensity.” Dave says he means you can endure pain for a short period of time in order to get out of debt quickly.

ANSWER: I would rather endure pain for a short period of time and get it over with. I didn’t go on vacation for three years. We didn’t see the inside of a restaurant for two. It’s not hyperbole. If you want to get out of debt, you’ve got to be very, very intense to sacrifice at that level for a short period of time. We call it living like no one else so that later you get the opportunity to live like no one else.
