Dave lets Greg know that a credit card company doesn't have to go to court to take a judgment against him.
QUESTION: Greg asks if you have to go to court to have a credit card company take a judgment against you. Dave says it doesn’t have to happen.
ANSWER: Absolutely not. You don’t even have to know that it’s going on. Most of the time they attempt to serve you notice, but if they don’t find you they can still take a judgment on you. If you legitimately owe the money, they’ll win the judgment. It’s a waste of time to go, unless you want to fight with them. When you don’t go to a lawsuit in cases of this type, you automatically lose.
