Not My Debt
Dave tells Steve to demand that the collection agency give him information about a mystery debt or take it off his report.
QUESTION: Steven applied for a small car loan, and learned he was turned over to a collections agency. He can pay the debt, but the agency won’t give him any information. Dave tells him why he needs to get it cleaned up right away.
ANSWER: You need to find out if you owe it. If you don’t, tell the collections agency to take it off your credit report. If you do, then pay it. Once you verify that the debt is yours and valid, pay it. In the meantime, if they want to be rude to you, you might as well be rude back to them and take out some of your frustration.
