Ask Dave

Bad Credit Score

Dave recommends using YOU, Inc., and never using a credit cleanup company to clean up your credit report.

QUESTION: Tracy found some entries on her credit report that are making her credit score bad. Where does Dave recommend they go to clean up their credit report? Not far, says Dave.

ANSWER: I recommend YOU, Inc. I would NEVER use a credit cleanup company. The only things that you can remove from your credit report are inaccuracies. If something is not right, you have the right to challenge it by writing to that credit bureau that reported it and say the item is inaccurately reported. The Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act gives them 30 days to fix the item or remove the entry. Send that letter certified mail.
