Is College Important

Dave tells Erin what he means when he says a degree is worthless.

QUESTION: Erin takes exception to Dave saying a degree is worthless.

ANSWER: I’m an employer, Erin. I care what you learn in college more than whether you have a piece of paper. I’ve met lots of people with pieces of paper that are IDIOTS. It doesn’t prove you are disciplined and can be trained. It means you went to class and passed tests. Knowledge is the new currency of the economy, not degrees. If you are going to spend money to get knowledge, you need to get knowledge that is applicable in the market. You’re living in the dream land that I was addressing!
