Really; How Much Can I Get?

John can't afford to pay cash for college. Does Dave think there is an acceptable limit to borrowing money?

QUESTION: John asks Dave how much he will allow to borrow for education, when you can’t afford it without borrowing.

ANSWER: I don’t want any money to be borrowed. You can go to a state school for a few thousand dollars a year. You’ll get a great education, and that’s $500 a month. You can make that delivering pizzas. If you want to live in the dorm and eat dorm food, you would spend $1,000 a month. Don’t have a champagne taste when you have a beer pocketbook.
