Keeping the side hustle alive
Chris has a nice side hustle going, but an important piece of equipment bit the dust. He asks for guidance.
QUESTION: Chris's log splitter is down for the count, putting his side hustle in jeopardy. Dave has a few ideas for getting his part-time job up and running again.
ANSWER: If I’m in your shoes, I’m going to fix the old one. Even it means duct tape and glue, I’m going to try to find a way to repair it instead of spending a bunch of money or going deeper into debt.
If you can’t do that, I’d be in the market for a decent, used log splitter. And pay cash! I get your line of thinking when it comes to increasing productivity. Splitting wood is real work. But don’t try to justify buying an expensive, new piece of equipment when it’s just not necessary.
