Sell the Harley?

Jay can take a year to get steady and work on paying down the mortgage before he decides whether to sell the Harley.

QUESTION: Jay and his wife have $90,000 in debt that only includes the house and the additional property around their house.  They bring home $70,000 a year.  Jay has a paid-for Harley Davidson that he can’t bring himself to sell, but he’s been advised to sell it.  Can he keep it?

ANSWER: You have a lot of new stuff going on with your spiritual life, your marriage, and your finances.  Your motorcycle with all your other vehicles doesn’t make up more than 50% of your take-home pay, so there’s no problem with you keeping it.  Give yourself a year to get steady and see if you still feel this way about the Harley next year.
