Is Paying Cash For A House Doable?

Is it really possible for a couple in their early 20s to pay cash for a house, if they put off investing in retirement for a few years?

QUESTION: Brandon and his wife are 22 and are almost debt free. They want to pay cash for a house. Does Dave recommend putting off investing to save and pay cash?

ANSWER: It would be awesome if you delayed retirement for a few years to pay cash for a house. Not 10 or 15 years, but if you save from age 25 or 27 and could write a check for the house, how cool would that be?
