Multi-level massacre

Question: Mindy's dad and sister are involved in their fifth get-rich-quick scheme in the last couple of years. Can she say anything to get them to see that these are not working?

Dave Ramsey's advice: When you go in there and say that it's not working, it becomes an intervention. That's hard to pull off, and this is a socially acceptable disease that these people have. It just hurts your heart to watch people you love do stupid stuff, and there's not much you can do. If they bring it up to you, then say that.

You're not being negative, but the majority of people who join these things don't win. Try hard work and a long term game plan. Scripture says he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished. Get-rich-quick doesn't work. When your mind and value system works that way, thinking you can do things quick and easy and make money, things you try to do will crumble. It happened with me when I was younger.

That is true! My parents live for the 'quick deal' and even though they made almost 200K last year, they squandered it by always having to have more. Then they call us and complain about how hard life is for them. We live below our means and always have peace, joy and abundance. Its just peaceful this way. We never sit up at night worried about money.

MLM is not inherently evil. Look at Mary Kay, Tupperware, and the dozens of other successful ones. The problem comes when you get involved in a bad MLM program. Stay away from anything with hefty up-front fees or automatic re-billing and realize that it is a risk - DON'T RISK WHAT YOU AREN'T WILLING TO LOSE!
