Hi!

I'm actually having a hard time finding a bump segment from the October 20 show, even though I've listened or am familiar with all of the songs listed here. It's an instrumental guitar segment that Blake uses rather often and it was used going into the break before "Don't Dream It's Over" was played. Blake's used this sample quite a bit, and the ringing guitar style sounds a little like slower Pearl Jam or Led Zeppelin. Any ideas?

Love the bump music, Blake. Excellent selections as always!

You might be thinking of "Life in Technicolor" by Coldplay; I know that was played, but I don't see it on the list.

You may be thinking of the same song I am...it was at the end of the segment where the one
guy was stressed out and having chest pains, and the other guy lost his toddler son in
a pool accident. The guitar almost reminded me of Santana.

I think the song you are looking for is 'Don't Dream It's Over" by Crowded House

Bruce, you're spot-on. That's exactly where the bump was that I'm looking for! I know it wasn't "Don't Dream It's Over" by Crowded House, because that was the next song that was played coming back into the show after the commercial break. It wasn't "Life in Technicolor" either, though both are also great, great songs.

Blake's definitely used this bump quite a bit, it pops up at least once every couple of weeks, and I just love the guitar tone on it. I'll keep my fingers crossed that we figure it out!

The song you are reffering to is a rare 311 song called "Let the Cards Fall". It is found on a bonus EP that came with their live DVD titled "Enlarged to Show Detail." Thanks for listening and commenting on the bump blog.
