Dave, I want to say Thank you for your teaching and insight. My husband & I have both been on unemployment the last year. Either one of us or both of us at the same time. I have been able to pay off some of the credit debt and not accummulate any more with your teachings. Also having the emergency fund and emeals have helped a lot. We have done a lot of creative things to save money. Thanks again.

Pam in Dallas just started working the baby steps. She has two credit cards, and one is offering her a 30% rate. She doesn’t want to close them because they have no savings and quite a bit of debt. Dave attempts to calm Pam and encourages her to make a written budget each month no matter what so that they can get on the same page.

Jim in Dallas is debt free! He and his wife have paid off $200,000 and made an entire lifestyle change. He’s calling Dave to do their debt free scream!

Kelly in Omaha is debt free except for her mortgage. Her husband’s family recently came to visit, and her sister-in-law pitched a business opportunity to her husband. Sue in South Carolina wants to know if she should get out of the stock market. Dave says she should remain invested in mutual funds—not the stock market—if she’s able to leave it alone five years or longer.

Gary in Germany is debt free! He paid off $50,000 in nine months and calls in to scream with his wife and son.

Connie and Rodney came to Financial Peace Plaza to do a debt free scream. They’ve paid off $109,000 in 29 months making $100,000 a year.

Tina in Michigan has a house in foreclosure proceedings. Her husband lost his job in April, and they’ve been behind on payments since then. Tina is worried his wages will be garnished once he finds a job. Dave tells Tina to concentrate on finding a job now and worry about the house later.

Ben in Missouri is calling to say he’s debt free! He and his wife have paid off $48,000 in 20 months making $70,000 a year. Ben says the best thing now is that his job is in jeopardy, but he has options now.

Tonya in Columbus is debt free but the house. Tonya started her own business, they’re receiving unemployment, and they have eight months of savings. She just totaled her car, and the insurance company isn’t offering market value for the car. Dave tells her she needs to be pushier with the adjustor and ask for market value.
