The Telemarketing Scam I Fell For
By Kevin in TX

Here's the short version. I'll leave out the part about a guarantee I got from the salesman.

I own two karate studios and got talked into leasing a computerized telemarketing system that was not only going to bring in dozens of new students each month, but other businesses would pay for me to run the machine for them.

WRONG.

After one year doing exactly as I had been trained, I turned off the machine forever and accepted my mistake.

Total income generated from the system - $1,324
Cost - 60 monthly payments of $474 = $28,440.
Software upgrades $590
Stupid Tax = $30,000+

Oh, and might I mention the two death threats and a small town totally annoyed with my telemarketing calls on top of the Stupid Tax.
