Dave Ramsey's Debtor Education meets your second course, pre-discharge requirement. This course is only for people who have already filed bankruptcy and have a bankruptcy case number. We don't offer the pre-filing credit counseling course required prior to filing. AccessHope.net* credit counseling company recommends Dave Ramsey’s Debtor Education for the second course.

TopNo. Your attorney's name is not required to sign up for Dave Ramsey's Debtor Education course. You will be asked for your attorney's information during sign up, which can be skipped. If you enter it, your completion certificate will be emailed to you and your attorney. We have many attorneys who are already registered with us. If your attorney is not in our system, you can enter their information during sign up and we will send them a friendly invite to register.

No. Financial Peace University (FPU) is a 13-week course that includes a lifetime membership along with a kit. Lessons for Dave Ramsey's Debtor Education were taken from FPU, based on the content requirements of the U.S. Trustee. The full FPU course includes many additional lessons. We suggest taking the full FPU course to build on what you've learned in Dave Ramsey's Debtor Education.
TopDave Ramsey's Debtor Education is the only course we offer that has been approved by the U.S. Trustee to earn a pre-discharge completion certificate. If you are in need of the pre-discharge debtor education requirement, then you will need to take Dave Ramsey's Debtor Education. It includes abridged FPU lessons, as well as segments specifically created for bankruptcy filers. Additionally, various procedural components are included as required by the U.S. Trustee.

TopYes. The completion certificate will be sent to you once you have completed the course. The U.S. Trustee requires that we manually create the certificate, so certificates are sent out during our office hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Central Time). If you complete the course during our office hours, you will probably receive your certificate the same day. If not, you will receive the completion certificate the next business day.
TopWhen you sign up, you will be asked for your attorney's information. If you enter it, your completion certificate will be emailed to you and your attorney. We have many attorneys who are already registered with us. If your attorney is one of those, you will only need to enter their name. We recommend you call your attorney after you receive your completion certificate to make sure they received it as well.
